This month each grade level homeroom competed for a chance to win a doughnut breakfast by turning in Box Tops, Labels for Education and Tyson's labels! We had 2, 230 labels submitted for this week! The winning homerooms are: Mr. Warner, Mrs. Senker, and Mrs. Bryd. Congratulations and enjoy your breakfast!
The Five Forks Reads Book Club and the Five Forks Cares Club celebrated Read Across America Day by hosting a school wide book drive and reading to local daycare students! We collected over 1800 books that were donated to schools, libraries, churches, and shelters! Leaders in deed! This week was Write a Letter of Appreciation Week! Students were asked to write a letter to someone who has had a positive influence in their life. We had several heart warming letters submitted but only one winner! Congratulations to Grace Dockstater! Grace wrote a letter to Mrs. Newton and won a $25 gift certificate to Barns and Nobles plus the opportunity to present her letter to Mrs. Mandy Newton on our Five Forks News Network show.
Congratulation to the Five Forks Reads Book Club for distinguishing themselves by placing third in the Readers Rally competition. They went up against seven middle schools in Division II and were recognized for their hard work. In order to prepare for this competition each team member was required to read 15 books and had to answer question in a quiz bowl style competition. The questions were created by a panel of Librarians and covered a vast amount of information. This was no easy task! We are so proud of them! They represented Five Forks well! I'm so proud of this team!
This week is Download an eBook Week. If you show Mrs. Brown or Mrs. Cook the downloaded app on your device you will receive a glow stick. (While supplies last!)
