Video Production Club
Information:
The Five Forks News network is a daily news show for our school. The broadcasts are for the students and teachers to be kept informed, entertained and updated on the latest events happening at school. Students who participate will create a TV Network where they will produce programming for the school and the school's website. This programming will include daily announcements, video shots regarding special programs, projects, and events at the school.

Remember, the week your crew is scheduled, you need to be at school by 8:15. Come to the Media Center. It is very important that if you cannot come a particular day, you make sure to let one of the Club sponsors know. Unfortunately, too many absences can mean you are no longer interested in the club.
Make sure EBB is broadcasting to the school after FFNN has filmed.

Duties:
___Computer graphics expert
- Coordinate and display slides according to the day’s rundown
- Prepare slides for backgrounds and moment of silence.
- Choose appropriate music (Get permission before airing). You may do this online and find an audioclip, but again, you must clear it with one of the adults.
___Sound / Audio technician
- Check microphones for clarity (no buzzing or static)
- Check audio levels for each person speaking
___Camera operator
- Always check volume of music: it plays louder than mics
- Check that studio lighting is on and correct for anchors and guests. Turn lights off at end of show
- Practice shots and angles
- Adjust camera tripod levels
- Indicate to anchors what camera they are to look to.
- Know capabilities of cameras
- Practice and use a variety of camera shots: pan, tilt, zoom in or out
- Investigate all buttons: white balance, macro, display, etc. (before show)
- Check for new announcements
- Type announcements into teleprompter when asked
- Run teleprompter program during rehearsals and during broadcast
- Have anchors read announcements over until they can read them smoothly and without mistakes
- Update teleprompter for next day’s show
- Learn how to operate the toaster
- Check camera monitors to preview shots
- Switch between cameras as the rundown indicates
- Read and practice the announcements smoothly and accurately
- Enunciate clearly and speak clearly
- Act as if you were on camera at all times
- Smile and sit up straight
- If you make a mistake, just compose yourself and go on
- Update appropriate slides (date, birthday)
- Post the Clock on the screen
